Destinations: Johannesburg, Kruger National Park (Private Concession) and Bazaruto Archipelago (Mozambique) From R 7 565 per person sharing Day 1 Arrive into Johannesburg, where you will be met by an Island-Safari.com representative and escorted to The Quartermain Hotel where you will overnight on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Situated in the heart of residential, upmarket Morningside, The Quartermain is only 2km from Sandton City and 27km from Johannesburg International Airport. The architecture is inspired by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the renowned designer of grand English homes and a contemporary of Sir Herbert Baker. The gardens, which are completely indigenous, have been designed to create a peaceful "bush" environment attracting bird and insect life.
Day 2 After breakfast you will be met at the hotel and driven to OR Tambo International Airport. In one of the Kruger National Park’s private concessions, this legendary wildlife reserve has the reputation for showcasing some of the best game-viewing on the continent. Vivid stories by the local community includes rituals that are still enacted today - be enchanted by the traditional Shishangeni Legend. Shishangeni has 22 individual chalets, all luxuriously appointed with a private game-viewing deck as well as mini bar, fireplace, outdoor shower and sitting area. Inter-leading rooms for families are available upon request. The central Lodge area consists of a spacious lounge, library, intimate bar, swimming pool, as well as an indoor and outdoor dining area, wine cellar and gymnasium. Guests can enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives searching for the ‘Big 5’, amongst other species, under the expert guidance of a personalised guide. Walking safaris and bird watching are also highly recommended. Children of ages are welcome at the Lodge and child-care including games and special kids’ programmes are available. In the interest of children under the age of 6 years are not allowed on game drives and only those over 12 years are permitted on game walks. Spend two nights at Shishangeni on a fully inclusive basis. Day 4 After breakfast and a morning game drive you will be driven to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, in time for your scheduled flight to Vilanculos Airport. * Please note that the flight from Nelspruit to Mozambique only operates on a Tuesdays & Fridays. If the day you fly to Mozambique is not a Tuesday or Friday you will require an overnight in Johannesburg. In a National Marine Park in Mozambique, lies an Archipelago of off shore islands known as The Bazaruto Archipelago. There are three main islands known as Margaruque, Benguerra and Bazaruto. On the second largest island, Benguerra lies idyllic Marlin Lodge. Marlin Lodge has 14 luxury en suite 80sqm chalets that stretch along the beach of Flamingo Bay. Each sea-facing chalet has a private patio with a walkway down to the beach. In addition there are 3 Executive Beach Suites all 110sqm in size and which boast a private sunning deck. The wood-reed-and-thatch chalets are a blend of elegance and African beauty. Decorated with a hue of creams, browns, and slight blues, the chalets reflect luxury and comfort. The elegant elevated wooden structures snakes along the back of the chalets, connecting them to the main area and is beautifully integrated into the sensitive Island environment. The centrepiece is a living-dining area where one can retreat from the African sun. A new spacious pool is set in a glade of coconut and Ilala palms, perfect for a day of relaxing and tropical cocktails. Upon occasion lunch is served here which creates an African Island setting.
Marlin Beach Lodge is favoured by sport fishermen, offering world class deep sea fishing and salt-water fly fishing. The Lodge has a range of superb fishing equipment and tackle for the use by Guests. Marlin lodge is the perfect honeymoon destination, with a warm atmosphere to enjoy this occasion. Honeymoon extras include an African style bush bath, sarong for the bride, T-shirt for the groom, Sparkling wine upon arrival, and an African fruit basket. Marlin Lodge cuisine is a colourful and exotic delight with an array of seafood flavours being the order of the day. Meals range from semi-formal affairs in the dining room to casual beach buffets. Dinners are sumptuous occasions every night. Only children from 14yrs and older are welcome Spend four nights at Marlin Lodge in a Luxury Beach Chalet, on a fully inclusive basis Day 8 After breakfast and some leisure time you will transfer to the jetty for your 25 minute boat transfer to Vilanculos jetty, where you will be met and driven to the airport.
