Check in to your luxury guesthouse for an overnight.
LUNCH & DINNER are a-la-carte & served in the restaurant, veranda or wine cellar. The restaurant is closed for Lunch: Monday & Tuesday and for Dinner: Sunday and Monday. Breakfast is served every day. We will gladly assist in reserving a table at one of the nearby restaurants. Transfers to the restaurants may be arranged at an extra cost. Oliver’s is situated in the White River Country Estate, and overlooks the Golf Course. The Lodge is also conveniently situated to the Kruger National Park (the nearest entrance gate is only 25 kilometres away), and is also within an easy drive of the Blyde River Canyon, and environs. Accommodation is varied, with 3 Exclusive Rooms in the main house, and a total of 7 in the new extension (6 suites, and a Luxury Loft room). The Exclusive rooms are all individually furnished, and are en-suite with separate shower and bath, and enjoy views of the gold course. There are 4 Luxury Suites on the ground floor of the extension, with private verandas, 2 Executive Suites on the first floor, with open balconies, and the Luxury Loft room, with spacious balcony. All are air-conditioned, have satellite TV, mini bar and snacks, and have tea/ coffee making facilities. The Suites also boast fireplaces and a cosy seating area. Oliver’s boats award winning cuisine, and an excellent selection of continental and Mediterranean dishes, in addition you might wish to sample the fondue (Chinoise) and Swiss raclette in the privacy of the well-stocked cellar. Meals are generally served in the restaurant or on the veranda. You can spend a lot of time exploring the beauties and diversity of the area, but you might also just wish to relax on the veranda, or at the swimming pool. There is also a Wellness and Beauty Clinic, where you can enjoy a variety of treatments and massages. For the more active, there is tennis and squash, and Oliver’s guests also enjoy access to the golf course at member rates. Depart Oliver’s this morning after an early breakfast. You will be transferred to Thornybush Game Reserve. Check into Tangala Safari Lodge where there will be time for some cool beverages and freshening up before your first afternoon/evening game drive which will also double as a night drive. Return to camp for dinner. Tangala is one of the last remaining authentic African experiences in South Africa that have been a legacy of the family for more than 3 generations. This intimate and exclusive private safari camp is situated in the 22 000 acre Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, a prime ecological area abounding in wildlife. Accommodation at the camp will bring back memories of a time long forgotten. The thatched chalets have en suite bathroom facilities and paraffin lantern lighting. Tangala is authentic rustic luxury at an affordable price. The camp consist of a central dining and lounge area with full bar and a swimming pool with a deck. Five double en suite chalets with shaded veranda. Hot water is provided at all times with “donkey-boilers” (geyser). The camp is electricity free. Children catered for, 12 years and over only. Day 3 Your full day on safari will be spent on game drives early in the mornings and late in the afternoon with time in-between to just relax and be spoiled by the lodge staff. Day 4 Today after your morning game drive and breakfast you will check out and will be transferred via road back to Johannesburg. You will travel via the Panorama route at your own pace, visiting Bourke’s luck potholes, God’s Window, Mac Mac Falls, the historic town of Pilgrims Rest and maybe having the best pancakes in South Africa in Graskop (if time allows). [Or fly from Hoedspruit Airport] Check in to the Metcourt Laurel Hotel for overnight. Conveniently situated only a few minutes from the airport, your hotel is part of a casino and entertainment complex and has several restaurants on site. Overnight on a Bed and Breakfast basis Day 5 After breakfast, take the free hotel shuttle to the airport for your 2-hour international flight to Livingstone Airport, Zambia. You will be met at Livingstone and transferred to your hotel on the banks of the Zambezi River, near the mighty Victoria Falls. Check in, settle-in and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent "Smoke That Thunders”, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest during the wet months (February to June) but the falls are a magnificent sight at any time of year. This 212 bedroom Resort Hotel is situated on the banks of The Zambezi with views towards the Falls which are a short walk away - in fact the Zambezi Sun is the closest of all the Hotels to the Falls. Part of the Sun International Group, renowned for their 'themed' resorts, The Zambian Sun has the feel of a walled city, centuries old - despite the fact it was only opened in 2001. Rooms are low slung and airy overlooking onto a cool landscaped pool area, while the restaurant and bar are focused around the central pool. Days 6 & 7 Today explore the mighty Victoria Falls situated close to your hotel and offering magnificent views.
Later relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the many pleasures of your hotel, or participate in one of the many local activities, such as a helicopter flight over the falls or an elephant-back safari. Adrenalin seekers can participate in many adventure holiday activities, such as canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls; white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (beware: grade 5); or bungi jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge! There is also an interesting local craft market. Day 8 This morning return transfer to Livingstone Airport for your flight back to OR Tambo International Airport. From this point you will depart under your own arrangements.
