The Islands of Siankaba have been developed as a luxury five star lodge accommodating just fourteen guests. The two islands are linked by a wooden and rope suspension bridge, leading to an overhead walkway in the tree canopy connecting the elevated chalets to Dining room, Bar and lounge.

There are seven comfortable, private and elegant chalets situated on the small island, while the larger island houses the dining room lounge and swimming pool. All chalets are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, ball and claw bath and separate shower, mini bar, large mosquito nets, ceiling fan and private safe. They are raised above ground level into the tree canopy and their balconies extend out over the river. This unique position means that you can see everything the area has to offer while relaxing in the comfort of your chalet. The seventh chalet has been designed with honeymooners in mind, and boasts a private garden, and private eating area.

The staff offers an informal, friendly and highly personalised service. Afternoon tea is served daily on the main lodge decking, allowing one to enjoy magnificent views of the mighty Zambezi River.

The shady forest canopy that surrounds the swimming pool is an ideal place to relax and enjoy an afternoon drink. The dining room and lounge offers a unique experience of comfort and relaxation in a truly African setting.

Each chalet fits unobtrusively into its setting, blending into the surrounding bush while enjoying views over the flood-plains. Hammocks complete the picture of simple luxury in the wilderness. Delta Camp is on the banks of the Boro, one of the primary watercourses of the Okavango, and all chalets overlook the water.

Enjoy your meals in the elegant Dining Room overlooking the sweep of the Delta, or take a beautifully prepared picnic onto one of the many nearby islands for a secluded and intimate experience. The excellent meals ensure that guests are well prepared for their walks; tea and coffee are available at all times, and the open bar is on hand to refresh.

The Okavango Delta is a shifting web of crystal-clear channels, lagoons, sweeping floodplains and palm-studded islands. Game of all sorts is around - lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, hippopotamus, crocodile, giraffe, and a number of species of antelope including the rare lechwe, and sitatunga. There are also otter, honey-badger, and some of the smaller wild cats amongst the many mammal species you may see. Additionally, over 450 species of birds bring the Okavango to life and bird-song heralds each dawn. The Okavango has indeed earned its reputation as one of the world's premier wilderness areas.
Delta Camp excursions - walking Safaris and mokoro (the traditional dug-out canoe) - are conducted in the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, with your own professional Guide, a man of the Delta, completely at one with his environment. The focus is on peace and tranquillity (stalking game on foot provides all the excitement one could wish for) and guests are actively encouraged to visit a local village, home to our guides, and to interact, should they wish to, with the people there.

Safari Club SA offers luxury accommodation and superior service in close proximity to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Lodge with its African theme has a luxurious yet homely ambience. The interior of each of the 17 en-suite rooms has been uniquely styled to represent a specific area of the continent – for example the Kalahari, Etosha or Okavango rooms. All rooms have TV, air-conditioning and tea and coffee facilities.

The public areas comprise lounges, a bar, a business centre as well as a separate breakfast room. A beautiful new swimming pool has been installed to ensure the comfort and relaxation of guests during the hot African summer. The bar is decorated as a tribute to the famous Nguni cattle and adorned with beautiful fittings in this theme.

Our main focus is personal service customised to the needs of each guest. Being located in Kempton Park, a mere four-minute drive from the gateway to Southern Africa, OR Tambo International Airport, is an added bonus. Jan Smuts Airport was built in 1952 and soon became the main gateway for air traffic into South Africa. During the 1990’s the name was firstly changed to Johannesburg International Airport and more recently dedicated to the memory of the late freedom fighter, Oliver Tambo. OR Tambo International Airport is currently the busiest airport in Africa. The Club offers free transfers to and from the airport to all guests.

The Lodge is centrally situated in the economic heartland of South Africa – Gauteng Province. The capital city, Pretoria, is approximately 50km away and Johannesburg only 18km. Emperor’s Palace, a world class casino with more than 12 restaurants, is only 7km down the road. The well-known Pilanesberg area with its nature reserves and Sun City complex is 150km by road and it is 400km to the world-renowned Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga.

Day 8

Following breakfast, you will be collected and transferred back to OR Tambo Airport to connect to your light aircraft charter to Arathusa Safari Lodge.

3 x nights Arathusa Safari Lodge fully inclusive of 3 meals per day, 2 game drives per day, 1 guided bushwalk per day and all teas and coffees.

Arathusa Safari Lodge is located within the northern sector of the magnificent Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

The lodge flanks the bank of a large lake, with each luxury chalets enjoying a 180-degree view of the water. Guests are able to view and enjoy a variety of wildlife (including the big five – lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant) from their private veranda. In addition, there is anything from 5 to 20 hippo in the lake - providing 24 hour entertainment.

The Lodge itself is on an 868 hectare property, but with traversing rights on neighbouring land of an additional 4 000 hectare – thus adding to the overall experience, and wildlife viewing in the Sabi Sand Reserve.

The landscape is rich and varied. Open savannahs, riverine thickets, river beds and lush bush vegetation ensure interesting sights around each corner, in addition the perennial Manyeleti River meanders its way through the property.

Arathusa Lodge is small, and intimate, open-plan and designed to blend with the area – both of the lake and the bush: wood and thatch, air and water – an extension of the natural environment. An infinity swimming pool overlooks the waterhole and is the perfect spot for wildlife viewing on a smouldering summer afternoon.

No more than 20 guests are accommodated at Arathusa Safari Lodge. The 10 thatched luxury suites each have a king-sized four-poster bed, bathroom en-suite (with bath and separate indoor and outdoor showers), and a secluded veranda. Additional amenities include a mini bar (stocked with a selection of beverages and snacks), an electronic safe, hairdryer, air conditioning, mosquito net and tea/ coffee making facilities. However, there are no telephones or televisions in the rooms at Arathusa. Guests are able to make calls from the reception area, and to send or receive e-mails and faxes, should they wish to do so.

Meal times at Arathusa are a sociable affair. From the kitchen guests are treated to sumptuous dishes, fresh produce and home baked confectionary. Breakfasts and lunches are served buffet style, while dinner is tailored to suit the guest’s preference. Before the afternoon game drive, guests are presented with a menu of delectable dishes on offer for the evening ahead.

Arathusa prides itself on its leopard viewing. As leopards are territorial, their regular appearances in the area allow the guides to plot their movements and to observe their behaviour. Large herds of buffalo numbering in excess of 300 often find their way to the Arathusa Lake. One need not move far to enjoy the safari experience! Elephants are also seen in numbers. In addition, there is good general plains game in this section of the Sabi Sand Reserve, including giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala and more. This region is also excellent for birders.

Day 11

Following a final morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred back to Maun by light aircraft charter where you will then connect to your Air Botswana flight back to OR Tambo.
