After lunch - (ALL your meals are included in your Tour; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as well as all your teas and coffees, but you will be required to pay for additional drinks), you will go out with your Guide for either a mokoro excursion or a walking safari. Dinner that evening is taken in the Dining Room overlooking the Boro River, to the accompaniment of the 'sounds of the Delta'

Day 2

You will collect all your camping equipment and a hamper of food from the store (all included in your Tour price) and accompanied by your Guide will go out on Mokoro Trail, your Guide will find a suitable camping spot in the 'bush' close to the water, and assist you to set camp, and build a fire. Whilst on Mokoro Trail your food is provided, but you will be responsible for its preparation.

From your base camp your Guide will take you out on Walking Safaris - truly the only way to go out 'on safari', enabling you to be 'at one' with the environment, and mokoro excursions on the myriad of crystal clear waterways that make up the Okavango Delta obtain stunning views of both the wildlife and birdlife that congregate at the water's edge. Your Guide will be happy to track and stalk particular animals that you are interested in seeing.

Days 3 & 4

An early morning wake-up, and after some coffee an early morning walk conducted at your pace, in the Moremi Game Reserve, returning after three hours or so for a hearty breakfast. During the heat of the day you can relax, and then after lunch another excursion by mokoro. Dining by the light of the camp fire under the canopy of the 'African Sky' completes your day. If you are particularly energetic you can go out on a longer walking safari taking a picnic breakfast or lunch with you.

Day 5

Another early morning safari, then return to Oddballs for lunch, and a rest before going out again for a mokoro excursion. You may also be interested in visiting the nearby village. Your Guide will be proud to show you his home and introduce you to his Family, a unique experience, especially if this is your first visit to Africa.

Day 6

An early morning walking safari, breakfast a rest and after lunch back to the airstrip for your short light aircraft flight into Maun (20 minutes).  Here you will connect to your scheduled Air Botswana flight back to OR Tambo.

On arrival you will again be met and transferred by road to The Outlook Lodge.

1 x night at The Outlook Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis

The Outlook Lodge is one of those establishments, perfectly situated to meet all clients’ specific needs and requests. From discerning travellers, professionals and avid safari enthusiasts, Outlook lodge will meet your expectations.

It is situated within 10 minutes drive from Johannesburg International Airport. Rooms are tastefully and elegantly furnished to celebrate South Africa’s wonderful diversity of wildlife and spectacular landscapes.

Originally established as an overnight stop for guests embarking on safari, it has developed into so much more and now confidently claims to be a lodge that surpasses international standards and maintains the highest possible levels of professionalism, hygiene and comfort.

The lodge can be described as a luxury establishment where rooms are large and beautifully furnished. Coffee and tea making facilities are available in every room as well as satellite television. All rooms have their own private bathroom facilities.

Public areas such as the lounge and bar area are friendly and unassuming with fireplaces scattered throughout the lodge. The lounge is the ideal place to watch a wildlife documentary, read a book or simply relax with friends and family.

Day 7

This morning you will be collected from The Outlook Lodge between 07h00 and 07h30 in the morning and make your way to the Kruger National Park, arriving around 12h00. Before entering the Kruger you will stop for lunch in one of the small town’s en-route to the park. Your first afternoon will be spent driving inside the Kruger searching for wild animals; you will be accompanied by a professional guide, who will gladly divulge information on the park’s amazing diversity of wild and plant life.

You get to the first camp in the late afternoon where you check into your accommodation and have enough time to go for a swim, purchase necessary items at the camps shop, or simply take a stroll around the camp to stretch your legs after a long days driving.  Your guide begins preparing the evening meal just outside your chalet, under the stars and served by candlelight.

Apart from the cooking your guide is of course available to identify all the nocturnal sounds you hear, and possibly entertain you with some amazing experiences encountered over many years of guiding in Africa.

Wine is served and included in evening meals.

Day 8

The early morning knock on your door signals the start of your second day in the Kruger. After a cup of coffee and some snacks, your guide packs the vehicle and you begin your early morning drive. It’s still really early in the morning, nice and cool, and a perfect time to spot elusive predators, that at this time of the day are still very active.  After a successful morning drive you stop at a picnic spot to enjoy a relaxed breakfast.  After breakfast you continue driving, searching for animals. You will find your guide to be a wealth of knowledge not only concentrating on animals but also identifying birds, trees and insects and able to explain some of the park’s fascinating geology.

After a full morning’s driving you reach the next camp where you check in and have a couple of hours to relax during the hottest part of the day, when animals are generally less active and hiding from the midday sun. All the camps used also have restaurant facilities so you will be able to purchase lunch.  In the late afternoon you embark on sunset/night drive which gives you an opportunity to spot some of Africa’s elusive, nocturnal animals such as hyena, leopard, owls, nightjars, civet, genet etc.  Upon your return, your guide has already prepared your evening meal. And has corked the wine which is now sufficiently aired and at the perfect temperature. Sitting outside on a balmy African night listening to lions roaring in the distance, or the whoop of a hyena is a fantastic experience and one which often brings guests back to Africa.

Breakfast and Dinner included

Day 9

Like clockwork, your guide gently knocks to indicate another early start. As the day before, you start off with a fresh cup of coffee before heading out on the morning drive. Time spent on game drives increases your chances of seeing unusual and spectacular animals, but not only guests wanting to see the best Africa has to offer in terms of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) are catered for, it truly is all spectacular from the huge elephant’s and giraffe down to common antelope such as impala and kudu. Not to mention an amazing diversity of birds.

The privilege of being out in the African bush is not something taken for granted.  This passion and dedication to Africa will be evident in your guide’s behaviour and enthusiasm.  After the morning drive you return to camp and have an opportunity for a midday siesta or just general relaxation time. Kruger’s camps are well established with large, old indigenous trees, housing many different bird’s reptiles and even bats. So it’s nice at this time of the day to also enjoy what the camps have to offer.  In the afternoon you head out again on a drive, returning just before the gates close.  In total you will do about 6-7 hours driving each full day in the Kruger. This allows enough time to show you many different animals and birds.

Once again your guide cooks your meal out under the stars.

Breakfast and Dinner included

Day 10

Five days in the Kruger allows sufficient time to show you many animals but also afford you the opportunity to go on an exciting morning walk, which lasts about 3-4 hours. The walk gives you an opportunity to experience Africa in a way different to being in a vehicle. Smells and sounds come alive as your senses are heightened and nerves are tingled at the possibility of encountering wild animals on foot. Walks are conducted by trained, professional guides with many years of experience and the necessary qualifications to successfully and most importantly, safely show you Africa from ground level. After your walk, you return to camp, your guide prepares breakfast and affords you some time to relax before an afternoon drive.

As on previous days, you return to camp in the early evening where your guide prepares dinner.

Breakfast and Dinner included

Day 11

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals. This morning is no exception and whilst you are leaving Kruger today, there is still time for a couple of hours drive in the hope of seeing and possibly photographing animals you have not yet seen. Your guide knows the Kruger intimately and will focus on areas he knows produce animals you still need to see, it’s not guaranteed but you stand a good chance.  Sadly after a couple of hours you depart Kruger and make your way back to Johannesburg. But not before showing you some of South Africa’s most spectacular scenery.  The panorama route includes Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and Pilgrims Rest, where you stop for lunch.  After lunch it’s a good four hours drive back to Johannesburg and you arrive back at your hotel around 18h00.

Breakfast included
