Day 1

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport under your own arrangements. You will be met at the airport by an Island-Safari.com representative who will transfer you by private vehicle to Abbey Manor.

Abbey Manor is a luxury guesthouse, situated on the lower slopes of Table Mountain – allowing excellent views of the city, the harbour and Table Bay itself.

The Manor was built in 1905, but has been lovingly remodelled to allow for all the modern comforts. All 9 rooms are air-conditioned, have satellite TV, mini-bar, tea/ coffee making facilities, safe, and internet access. You have an excellent choice in terms of accommodation – with 2 Grande Cottages in the grounds (with private entrance), 2 Grande Rooms and 5 Luxury Rooms in the main house. No room is alike, but are all beautifully appointed, and en-suite (most with shower and bath).

Guests enjoy a gourmet breakfast in the breakfast room, or on the patio.

For relaxation, you can also enjoy the use of a heated swimming pool, and spa bath.

The manor is well placed for visits to the V&A waterfront, the city’s historical, and entertainment landmarks, as well as the famous beaches of Camps Bay. You are also close to majestic Table Mountain, and its Reserve, with hiking trails, and viewing spots. The beauties of Kirstenbosch and Constantia are not far, and a day trip to the Winelands is highly recommended. You might want to try something a little more adventurous – some shark cage diving, or sea-kayaking.

Spend three nights at Abbey Manor in a Double Room, with breakfast included.

Day 2

Today a rental vehicle will be delivered to you at Abbey Manor. With your vehicle you will be able to explore the highlights of the Western Cape.

Day 4

Today you will depart Abbey Manor and drive to Roggeland Country House near Paarl in the Cape Winelands (about a 45 minute drive).

Roggeland Country House is a guest house in the Dal Josaphat Valley, just outside of Paarl, which offers a warm welcoming and a tranquil base from which to explore this part of the Winelands. The manor house is an original 18th Century Cape Dutch masterpiece, and is a National Monument. The building still features the original yellowwood beams, reed ceilings and thatched roof. Whilst the décor includes antique furniture.

In this part of the Cape visitors get to discover cheese factories, port and brandy cellars of distinction, excellent food, and scenic splendour.

Roggeland Country House offers guests a choice of 6 superior or 4 standard rooms, allowing for the option of a large room with bath and freestanding shower or a smaller room with bath and shower combination. Each room is individually decorated, offering unique character and charm, and have either a large double or optional twin beds. The rooms all boast handmade linen, down duvets, ceiling fans, fresh flowers and handmade soaps. As part of the allowing guests to truly relax, there is no TV in the rooms.

A highlight of a stay at Roggeland Country House is the cuisine. Enjoy a pre-dinner selection of wines to taste, served under the trees. The dining room, the manor house’s original kitchen, retains the original oven and fireplace which form part of the character and charm of the homestead. You will be delighted with the four course dinner, which is candle lit, and enhanced by a carefully selection of wines with each course. The menus are inspired by the seasonal local produce, with vegetables and herbs being grown in Roggeland’s own grounds.

Although the area is renowned for its wine, there is an excellent variety of activities in the area, from golf, to bird watching at the local bird sanctuary, and scenic horse riding trails. Guests can also try their hand at fishing (and swimming!) in mountain pools, or canoe on the nearby Breede River. Or you might just wish to relax next to the pool, after visiting nearby rose farms. A walk through the town is also of interest, as Paarl is one of the country’s oldest towns, and has a number of historic buildings.

Spend two nights at Roggeland in a Superior Room, on a full board basis

Day 6

Today you will depart Roggeland Country House and drive to Cape Town International Airport. Return your rental vehicle and check in for your scheduled flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. You will be met and transferred by road to Kings Camp in the Timbavati Game Reserve of Kruger Park. (About a 2 and a half hour drive)

Kings Camp's principal attraction is the astonishing diversity and abundance of wildlife that guests of the Camp have the chance of seeing.

Kings Camp offers intimate and luxurious accommodation, with only ten Suites - all of which have indoor and outdoor showers. The suites are beautifully and tastefully appointed, and all boast romantic, soft cascading Mosquito Nets, air conditioning, stocked mini bar fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities.

The camp is also furnished with a lounge/dining room, bar, pool terrace and a game viewing platform – overlooking a very active waterhole. Guests may also enjoy the additional facilities of the curio shop, laundry, valet service, gym and library (with internet facilities).

You may also enjoy seeing and learning about the lesser-known animals - from reptiles and amphibians, to colourful and bizarre insects. For those with a botanical interest, there are hundreds of species of trees and shrubs (not to mention the enormous variety of grasses and other plant life).

In addition to its wealth of biological diversity, there is something else that many visitors soon discover - something they commonly say is equally impressive, and of enormous value. In Kings Camp there is an atmosphere of undisturbed nature, of true wilderness, which is difficult to define and describe, but can readily be perceived by the discerning traveller in those rare places where it can still be encountered.

Spend two nights at Kings Camp in on a fully inclusive basis

Day 8

Today you will be collected from Kings Camp and transferred by road to Londolozi Varty's Camp in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve of Kruger.

In the centre of the Londolozi concession burns a fire in the very spot where the Varty forefathers set up their tents 80 years ago. This fire has been lit every night on the same spot through generations and embodies the significance of this camp and the continuity of the Varty family’s custodianship.

All of the air conditioned 8 chalets and 2 suites have private plunge pools and elevated timber decks. The focal point of each luxurious bathroom is a magnificent view of the lush green riverine vegetation. The essence of relaxation is to gaze from your bath over uninterrupted views.

Londolozi’s rich history is preserved and recorded in the original camp built in 1926. Four Rondavels, which date back to the original Sparta Hunting Camp, are a special feature. Each have been set dressed to reflect a time gone by, this museum is a tribute to the early Bushveld Pioneers, a well-stocked wine cellar and an library (with Internet access) also have a home at Varty camp but it is Varty Camps main deck offering awe-inspiring views of the Sand River that captures the true essence of Africa.

This emphasis on family heritage means that children have always had a place at Londolozi. In a world hardly imaginable today the first youngsters to visit the Bushveld farm were expected to do their bit; to walk alongside the wagons on the long and slow journey, help collect water and firewood and hold lanterns for their fathers as they chased off prowling lions. These were the “rights of passage”, signifying maturity gained and therefore eagerly anticipated.

Varty family Camp offers a return to the original Bushveld experience, to fun and adventure.

Spend three nights at Londolozi Varty's Camp in a Chalet, on a fully inclusive basis

Day 11

Today you will be collected from Londolozi Varty's Camp and transferred by light charter aircraft to Johannesburg International Airport. From this point you will depart under your own arrangements.
