From R 9 120 per person sharing Day 1: Johannesburg – Dullstroom You will depart Johannesburg early and enjoy a short 2.5 hour drive to Critchley Hackle where you will spend your first night. Bordering a tranquil lake in the Eastern Highlands of South Africa, just outside of Dullstroom; Critchley Hackle offers guests a luxurious and restorative retreat.
The handsome stone lodge is adorned with grand antiques and paintings, and warm décor with a distinctly Scottish feel invites guests to feel right at home. The private cottages of Critchley Hackle are all en suite with a log fire (winter nights in Dullstroom can be chilly) and each has been decorated around a different theme. Most of the cottages have private patios with splendid views of the lake. Candlelit dinners are paired with fine South African wines in the Critchley Hackle dining room, and the lounge is a cosy spot for a nightcap, or to settle in with a book. Dullstroom is known for its many trout filled dams and lakes, so fishing is popular pastime at Critchley Hackle. There is also a swimming pool and the area offers wonderful nature walks, hikes and horse riding. Overnight at Critchley Hackle on a bed and breakfast basis Day 2: Dullstroom - Rhino Post This morning following breakfast, you will depart Dullstroom and head for the start of your Kruger Park Safari. On the final day of your safari you can experience the thrill of an early morning game drive or walk for the last time. After brunch you will depart the Kruger Park and drive a short distance to Oliver’s Restaurants and Lodge for a final relaxing evening. It was October 1998 when Oliver and Tanja started their venture “Oliver’s Restaurant” – a vision that both had shared ever since they were very young. Oliver was born into a “Hotel Family” and has always had a great passion for this industry. He finished his 3-year chef apprenticeship in his hometown of Villach in Austria. Tanja, a first generation South African, attended a Hotel and Tourism College in Salzburg / Austria and after finishing this they both set off to gain experience in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Australia. The latter did not work out for them quite as they had hoped. While they were “job-hunting” in Australia, they received an offer to manage the White River Golf Lodge in Mpumalanga – one of the finest golf lodges in South Africa. Working at one of the leading golf lodges in South Africa was marvellous but tough. After 2½ years they came to a point where they wanted more. So on the 17th of April 2001, they started with the building of Oliver's. On 1st December 2001 they finally opened their doors and with full support from the locals in particular, and other wonderful guests, have grown from strength to strength. Oliver's is one of the better golf lodges in South Africa. Not only can you enjoy a round of golf but there are plenty of other entertainment options too. Oliver's is a wonderful place to spend those tranquil evenings after a round of golf at White River Golf Course - one of the leading golf lodges in South Africa. Oliver is very hands on in the kitchen and Tanja adds a feminine touch to the suites. Their philosophy is to extend a warm welcome to anybody entering their little haven and to let them unwind in a peaceful and tranquil setting, spoil them with mouth-watering dishes together with professional, personalised and friendly service. “A home away from home atmosphere with Austrian Gemütlichkeit!” Overnight Oliver’s on a bed and breakfast basis Day 6: White River – Johannesburg Following a final morning breakfast, you bid farewell and depart for your drive back to Johannesburg.
