Drive to Granny Mouse Country House, Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, situated in the picturesque Midlands Meander at the foothills of the Drakensberg (This is approx 1 and a half hours drive)
With Golf Courses, Fly-fishing, Birding, clay-pigeon shooting and various other activities on their doorstep, they are the perfect country venue! Indulge yourself with one of the many Spa therapies on offer like an Anti-stress, Deep Tissue Massage, or a relaxing Hot Stone Massage, before enjoying a Gourmet Meal in our restaurant, prepared by chef Leanne Roberts from only the freshest local ingredients, and a bottle of wine from their award winning underground Wine Cellar while taking in the views of the Midlands Meander. Granny Mouse Country House is positioned on the Lions River and surrounded by indigenous bush, resulting in an abundance of wildlife, in particular an extensive birding list with over 200 species. One can spend the afternoon taking a leisurely stroll down our River Walk towards the waterfall, or laze under the willows on the Common. Other activities: Spend two nights at Granny Mouse Country House on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, drive to your Beach Resort, situated 40-minutes north of Durban. Check in, settle in and relax on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean. The Hotel Izulu offers sophisticated elegance and charm, accentuated by service excellence, cutting edge cuisine and luxurious accommodation. The chef at the Izulu Hotel in Ballito, Durban, hosts the finest dining on the Dolphin Coast, in the restaurant Gigi’s,... as well as intimate private dining in the hotel’s wine cellar. KwaZulu Natal is South Africa’s favourite beach holiday destination, with its warm sweeping beaches and reliably good holiday weather all year round. Ballito and Umhlanga are both popular beach resorts situated on the warm Indian Ocean, with everything you need to relax and unwind under sunny blue skies. The long golden beaches are magnificent and restaurants are of an extremely high standard. Wine and beer are also excellent and relatively inexpensive. Your hotel is situated right on the beach, with its own swimming pool. Water sports are nearby, as well as championship golf, horse riding, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. The casinos and nightlife of Durban are within easy reach, as well as several outstanding shopping malls. All you need for a wonderful beach holiday! Spend three nights at Hotel Izulu in an Executive Room on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Day 6 After a leisurely breakfast and maybe relaxing on the beach for the last time (time permitting), drive to Durban Airport. Drop off your rental vehicle. Flight from Durban Airport to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
Upon arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, you will be met by an Island-Safari.com representative and transferred via road to The Thornybush Game Reserve. Now modern day adventurers can journey in the footsteps of the great explorers and rediscover an era of private safari expeditions into the heart of Africa by sleeping under the skies with only canvas as a roof. Chapungu Luxury Tented Camp is tastefully furnished in old-world colonial splendour and offers safari enthusiasts an experience reminiscent of the style of a bygone era complete with great cuisine and old fashioned service. This is a small Camp, with only eight tents, all of which have ceiling fans, and air conditioning. Guests can enjoy exciting dawn and dusk safaris in open Land Rovers and on foot. This is a unique exclusive Safari experience, as the Reserve is home to an abundance of species: 147 mammals including the big five, 114 reptiles, 507 birds, 49 fish, 34 amphibians and 336 trees. Boma Dinners are an occasion and an opportunity to select a bottle from our stock of fine wines and to savour our finest fare around a log fire as you recount the day's game experiences before retiring to the lounge for a night cap, or the comfort of your tent. Spend two nights at Chapungu Tented Camp on a fully inclusive basis Day 8 After your morning activity and breakfast you will be transferred via road to Hoedspruit Airport, in time for your flight back to OR Tambo International Airport. From this point you will depart under your own arrangements.
